Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy: Maximizing Economic Impact for Newfoundland and Labrador

NOTE: This opportunity has expired or is an event which has already taken place.

May 22, 2019
Time: 11:00am – 2:30pm
Location: 1 Arctic Avenue St. John’s, NL A1B CA

The Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy leverages defence and security procurement to create jobs and economic growth. The ITB Policy requires companies awarded defence contracts to do business in Canada equal to the value of their contracts. We are building ocean technology capabilities that not only meet the private sector needs in oil and gas but also meet the requirements needed by the Department of National Defence.

The purpose of this session is to provide information on what the ITB Policy is and how companies have been successful in accessing the defence and security procurement supply chain in an effort to encourage more NL companies to participate through innovation and collaboration in order to take advantage of the enhanced economic opportunities in the coming years.

Join us for an informative day that will include:

  • ITB 101 presentation from ACOA
  • Industry success stories: Rutter, Virtual Marine, Solace Power, Genoa
  • Presentation to demonstrate how industry and academia can collaborate
  • Presentation from Lockheed Martin Canada on Canadian Surface Compbatant (CSC)
  • Ocean’s Supercluster presentation

*Lunch sponsored by PAL Aerospace
