Canada-Florida Smart Cities Roadshow

In partnership with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (pending funding approval) and the Consulate General of Canada in Miami, The Maritimes Energy Association is assisting with the organization of the Canada-Florida Smart Cities Roadshow, February 17 – 20, 2020.

This three-day programme in Tampa, Miami, and Orlando will showcase Canadian smart cities technologies in four key areas: Energy, Water, Transportation/Infrastructure and Data/Public Safety.

Selected applicants will gain the opportunity to both:

  • Present their company/technology to the Floridian state, county and city government officials, as well as private organisations such as: water and power utilities, utility wholesalers and retailers, engineering firms, and industry related consultants;
  • Network and meet with organisations and governments through events, roundtable discussions.

Is It Right For You?

  • Company has ownership of a proven technology in one of four key areas outlined below;
  • Company ideally has some experience doing business in the U.S.;
  • If company is established but had a new technology, a prototype must be available;
  • Company must have the capacity to supply or service the distributors;
  • Company must have the commitment and adequate staff resources to be able to follow up with contacts.

Additional Information

  • There is no cost for participating in this programme, aside from flights into Miami and out of Orlando, airport transfers, accommodation costs, and some meals;
  • It is recommended that selected participants stay in hotels that will be identified in each city;
  • Bus transportation between hotels, programme venues, and cities will be provided at no additional cost;
  • Companies must be prepared to arrive and depart Florida on the agreed to dates;
  • Final selection of participating Canadian firms will be undertaken in consultation with provincial partners and Florida partners.
